Doppelgänger is the double, the double in Germanic folklore, a doubt, an interrogation between two entities. Double game, reflection, identity. Who is this double who looks like me, and who is not me ? The encounter with the double is one of the major themes of literature, it is found in the tales of the Brothers Grimm, in Maupassant, Wilde, in the cinema of Lynch, Peele or even in Dungeons and Dragons. Maxime Verdier by constructing his stories and characters which draw largely on intertwined memories, practices an act of duplication, a setting in abyss. Melancholi's forgotten down jacket has it's his, the fingers making their way behind the tapestry a childish fear, the keeper of the halls of L'Echappée belle has a little job.
