In the showcase at Le Cloître, Maxime Verdier plunges into a world that is both fairytale-like and disturbing, a world he fashions by drawing on a repertoire of shapes, childhood memories and everyday anecdotes to create a story that oscillates between reality and fiction.

As well as drawing, which is an important part of his artistic practice, he also makes miniature models - with surrealist influences - where every detail is a clue that will feed a fiction that the viewer wants to tell himself.
