Partant de photographies qu'elle choisit avec une grande part d'intuition, Mireille Blanc s'intéresse aux détails de fabrication de l'image. L'artiste cherche à faire échapper le sujet initial dans les motifs qu'elle peint, en jouant sur les rapports d'échelle et de cadrage. Ainsi, dans Impressions (tee-shirt), le tableau semble abstrait dans un premier temps, on y devine ensuite une silhouette de dos à l'extérieur : celle d'une personne portant un t-shirt blanc — un motif récurrent dans son travail — sur lequel se reflètent les ombres et la lumière du soleil.
